It was my birthday recently and I decided to celebrate by making myself a cake. I finally got a decent fondant recipe and I had a wonderful time making this cake. I need to practice my string work though. I think I had the wrong consistency of frosting as the strings kept breaking. But otherwise it was a blast! And good practice too.

My son couldn't figure out why I was making my own cake. I explained over and over again that I wanted to, but I think he thinks this is just more proof that Mom is weird.
